Wedding & Events

Each event I plan is intricately designed around my clients visions, dreams, desires and budget in mind.

One of the greatest things I enjoy most about planning weddings is the look of appreciation I receive from all my brides and their families when their dream wedding is brought to life right before their very eyes in the way they never thought possible. It’s much like painting a masterpiece because I really get the start on a blank canvas with the ability to recreate the vision they have with intensity and perfection. It’s the extra effort I put into little details I add that they notice which completes their wedding. Details that their guests notice and lets them know how unique their wedding truly is compared to other weddings and events they’ve attended.

It’s this very reason I love what I do and put 150% of my creativity into every wedding I plan from start to finish. Whether I am hired to do it all or just a little, I make sure that every detail is unique and different, setting their wedding apart from all others.

Below are a few weddings I had the privilege to plan and the privilege to showcase on my web site.

Andrea & Kevin - Wedding June 2, 2007 Dawson Creek, British Columbia

Andrea and Kevin’s was truly a fairy tale wedding from the start. Elements of English traditions were brought in to complete the riveting tale of love and happiness between two young people who adored and loved each other unconditionally. Her parents place set the precedence to the ceremony and after ceremony reception with hues of blue setting the backdrop to this amazing event.

The planning process began when Andrea’s mother came to me for assistance in her daughter’s wedding. I was able to offer decorating services and my wedding day direction service which allowed the bridal couple and families to relax and enjoy the grand event. I met with the father and mother of the bride 8 weeks prior to the wedding to discuss the design elements of the ceremony.

One week prior to the wedding, Andrea’s father came to me with a request that others would deem impossible to fulfill - a horse drawn carriage for him and his daughter to arrive in. The request of the horse drawn carriage was to be kept a secret to all except for the parents of the bride, the bride and the bridal party. With everything in place, her grand entrance to her fairy tale wedding was complete.

It was an honor to be a part of such a grand event filled with tradition and classic style. Thank you Kathy and David (parents of the bride) for choosing TLS Wedding Designs.

Karen & Darrell - Wedding July 26, 2008 Taylor, British Columbia

Unique decor and color scheme brilliant with style and flare set the fascinating mood to this grandeur event. When I met Karen and her fiancé Darrell for the first time in April, I knew that her love for life and flare for color would make this wedding one of the most talked about weddings this year. However, their intense work schedules prohibited them from planning their unique wedding and therefore called upon me to take over this grand scaled event.

With more than 200 people in attendance and the ceremony to take place in the exact same location, it was my job to oversee all the aspect of the wedding from conception to completion making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Sitting down with them over the next several months gave me the creative notions I needed for the design elements of this event - “Cocktail Soiree”.

Karen’s biggest struggle was the ceiling aspect of the hall where her breathtaking wedding was to take place. Rafter and fluorescent lighting strewed across the 90 foot span of the ceiling making it somewhat of an eye sore. My solution - 40 rice paper lanterns in 24” and 16” diameters, all individually lit in the colors of Mango and Turquoise to cover the ceiling. Each individually hung in a way that it looked like each were floating magically across the ceiling. The fabrics were carefully chosen in a Burnt Fire Orange and Turquoise Pintuck that matched the lanterns perfectly. Exotic flowers, traditional roses and greenery were carefully chosen by the bride herself and assembled accordingly. Centerpieces were designed by both myself and the bride who wanted a unique element design to the tables.

But that wasn’t all. Karen and Darrell’s emphasis for family and friends would allow me to bring in something never seen before at a wedding - a 5 in 1 Bouncer for the children. This unique addition to the wedding was a huge hit not only among the children but the adults as well. In addition to the outdoor activity, the Candy Table was also a huge hit among adults and children alike.

Every detail was intricately laid out including the floor plan. Since it was a “Cocktail Soiree”, the servers needed to have access to all tables as they made their way around serving the hors d’oeuvres. The live band was a huge success during the reception and the wine station provided the classic style of high society to their guests who arrived from all across Canada.

Thank you Karen and Darrell for choosing TLS Wedding Designs to provide you with the wedding you envisioned and allowing me to be a part of your breathtaking event.
